Akintoye-Fuck ‘Em Up Moses, Song review

Song Review:

I find this song to be enjoyable. This song feels like a build up to the chorus. To be fair, the chorus is the main part I heard on Tiktok so I was looking forward to hearing it in context. The flow in the beginning is great to listen to then the chorus smacks you into the ground just like Moses and his gang did to Akintoye. The lyricism were great and there were many puns, double entendres, and clever jokes hidden within the lyrics. This is a song that is great on the first listen and gets better and better with each repetition.

Music Video Review:

The music video was simple which definitely makes sense for a newer artist. There was definitely some creativity with the camera angles which added emphasis to the words he was saying. The black and white vibe definitely adds to the vintage vibe that Akintoye brings to his music and also adds to some artistic elements making it feel more aesthetically pleasing. The appearance of Moses in the music video adds to the comedic effect of the video. The only con is that it does feel a bit repetitive over time. Regardless, it definitely is fun to watch and groove

He is definitely a great artist to listen to if you want to hear music with witty lyrics and a powerful execution of them. It’s fun dissecting each lyric and recognizing the impact over time. He brings a new, refreshing yet nostalgic and retro feeling to the hip-hop scene especially in this age of mumble rap and singing rap.

I do not look down on mumble rap or singing rap. Only rap with creepy, predatory lyrics (references to sexual assault or pedofilia).
